Starting Wednesday December 22, 2021, our restaurant will be reflecting the latest provincial COVID-19 protocols.

In order to maintain physical distancing, we are operating at a reduced restaurant capacity with a maximum of 6 people per table, and are using physical barriers on the patio and on specific tables within the restaurant. Outdoor seating will be available on our heated patio with 6ft distance between tables.

Important measures taken by us at Marcello Ristorante to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  1. STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK: Any staff or patrons will be refused to enter the premise if they are sick.
  2. WASH YOUR HANDS: Staff and patrons are expected to wash hands regularly, and ensure to cough/sneeze only in your sleeves and avoid touching your face.
  3. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: All staff and patrons will be guided to stay two meters (six feet) apart.
  4. CLEAN SURFACES OFTEN: We will maintain regular disinfection of high-touch areas reduces the risk of transmission from contaminated surfaces. Training is given to a team member designated during each shift for specific disinfecting responsibilities, and the check list is signed at completion with the following schedule:
  • Light Switches: Before and After Use
    Debit Machines: After Each Use
    Menu: After Each Use
    Table and Chairs: After Each Use
  • Employees must inform the manager on call that they are symptom free when signing in at the beginning of every shift. Contactless temperature check of each employee will be done before the start of shift is done. 
  • If Employees are sick with any symptoms consistent with cold, influenza or COVID-19, even if symptoms are mild, they are required to remain at home, and contact their family physician/primary care provider or call 8-1-1 for further guidance. 
  • If an employee starts experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness consistent with COVID-19 while at work, even if symptoms are mild, the employee is asked to report to the manager immediately. A face mask will be provided, and the employee is required to wear a mask and leave work immediately, go straight home, and contact their family physician/primary care provider or call 8-1-1 for further guidance. Objects and surfaces touched by the sick employee will be disinfected before being used by others.  
  • Employees must wash hands or use an alcohol-based sanitizer before and after serving a table. Condiments will be served as needed in a single-use container.
  • Dishwashers are equipped with a face shield, gloves and apron. Training has been provided to ensure proper placement of face shield and gloves.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are at the entrance of the restaurant as well as at each work station, bathrooms, kitchen and office. 
  • Staff are limited to bringing only essential personal items and is provided an individual bin for storage. 
  • Physical greeting in the premises will be limited to an elbow bump.
  • As suggested by health authorities, employees have been provided with electronic COVID-19 resources which entails all the guidelines.
  • Each server will be using a different point of sale computer for taking orders and payments ensuring 6 feet of social distancing. Entrance door and both patio doors will remain open whenever possible. 
  • Less tables will be utilized ensuring social distancing among guests inside as well as on the outdoor patio.  
  • Bar seating and pizza counter seating will remain closed.
  • In order to maintain physical distancing, we are operating at 50% capacity seating inside the restaurant and outdoor patio.
  • There will be no events held that includes more than 50 people.
  • No more than 6 people will be seated at a table.
  • Bathrooms capacity will be limited to no more than 2 occupants at any given time, in order to maintain social distancing. 
  • Name and phone number of one member of each party will be retained for at least one month in the event that there is a need for contact tracing on the part of the medical health officer.
  • Deliveries are received only by the kitchen manager at different times of the day, ensuring reduced traffic and contact.
  • Contactless delivery will be done via window service.
